What is PEGASIS: Efficient Sensor Data Gathering about?

The document summarizes PEGASIS, a protocol for sensor networks that improves upon LEACH by forming sensor nodes into a chain rather than clusters. Each node receives from and transmits to a close neighbor, and data moves in a chain to a designated node that transmits to the base station. This reduces the number of transmissions and transmissions distances, saving energy compared to direct transmission or clustering approaches like LEACH. Simulation results show PEGASIS extends network lifetime by 100-300%
