What is Synthesis of Novel Diuretic Diazole Compound about?

This document summarizes the synthesis and screening of a novel compound for diuretic activity. The compound N1-(4-amino benzoyl)-3-methyl-5-phenyl-4(N-4-sulfamoylphenylazo)-1,2-diazole was synthesized in two steps. It was then screened in rats and found to significantly increase urine volume as well as sodium, potassium, and chloride excretion compared to the control. The results suggest this novel compound has potential as a diuretic agent.
