A landslide in Naga, Philippines buried up to 25 homes and killed at least 12 people. Heavy rains in the days since Typhoon Mangkhut had saturated the soil on a slope above the houses, causing it to collapse. While residents had evacuated during the typhoon, many returned home after it passed and were unaware of the landslide risk from the heavy rains. Rescue efforts were ongoing but hampered by unstable ground conditions. The landslide occurred on land owned by a quarrying company.
