Low-Liquid Ammonia Pretreatment of Corn Stover by LOKESH MAHALA is a document available to read on EtoBox.

What is Low-Liquid Ammonia Pretreatment of Corn Stover about?

This document summarizes a study on a low-liquid pretreatment method of corn stover using aqueous ammonia to reduce severity and liquid usage in ethanol production. Corn stover was treated with 0.5-50% ammonia at a 1:0.2-5 solid-to-liquid ratio at 30°C for 4-12 weeks. Pretreatment at 50% ammonia, 1:5 ratio for 4 weeks resulted in 55% delignification and 86.5% glucan digestibility. Simultaneous saccharification and fermentation of this pretreated material gave a 73% ethanol yield based on total carbohydrates
