This study investigated the effects of headphone use on hearing acuity in students at Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria. 96 students were divided into a study group that used headphones and a control group that did not. Hearing tests found significantly higher thresholds (worse hearing) in both ears of headphone users compared to non-users, indicating decreased hearing acuity from headphone use.
