The Tau Gamma Sigma sorority was founded on January 17, 1969 at the University of the Philippines by 11 female students who were friends with the founders of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity. Originally known as the Triskelion Grand Sorority, it adopted the Greek letters Tau, Gamma, and Sigma. The sorority was very active on campus for several years but declined in membership in the early 1970s due to graduation, transfers, and martial law.
