This study investigated the relationship between habitual caffeine consumption, intraocular pressure (IOP), and glaucoma using data from 121,374 participants in the UK Biobank. Results indicated that while higher caffeine intake was weakly associated with lower IOP, genetic predisposition to elevated IOP modified this relationship, showing that higher caffeine consumption could lead to increased IOP and glaucoma prevalence in genetically predisposed individuals.
