What is Flow On Social Media? Rarer Than You about?

A five-day field study with 40 participants found that flow experiences are rarely associated with social media use, with only 2% of reported flow occurrences linked to it. Instead, increased social media usage correlated with fewer daily flow experiences, suggesting that social media may hinder rather than facilitate flow. The study highlights the need for further research to understand the complex relationship between social media use and psychological experiences like flow.
