What is Understanding Higher Education Levels about?

The levels of study in higher education have been renamed to reduce confusion. Previously, levels were referred to as Certificate (Level 1), Intermediate (Level 2) and Honours (Level 3) for undergraduate degrees and Masters (Level M) and Doctoral (Level D) for postgraduate degrees. Under the new system, levels have been renamed so that Level 1 now refers to GCSE qualifications rather than the start of higher education.
