This study investigates the prevalence of cancer in patients with ischemic stroke and the impact of anticoagulant usage on the risk of thromboembolic events. Among 86,365 patients, 10.2% had active cancer, with 14.7% receiving anticoagulants post-discharge; however, the risk of recurrent thromboembolism and major bleeding did not significantly differ between those prescribed anticoagulants and those who were not.
