Mohamad Faisal bin Haji Ismail, a former employee of Brunei Shell Petroleum, was found guilty of corruption for receiving $52,695 in bribes from a vendor between January 2008 and August 2009. The Bandar Seri Begawan Magistrate sentenced him to 6 years in prison and ordered him to pay a penalty of $52,695 along with prosecution costs of $200,000. Failure to pay the penalty will result in additional imprisonment.
