What is SSP Process in PET Production about?

Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is produced via a process involving esterification, polycondensation, and solid state polymerization. In esterification, raw materials like purified terephthalic acid and monoethylene glycol react to form an oligomer. This pre-polymer then undergoes polycondensation to achieve higher molecular weight. Finally, solid state polymerization removes residual compounds and further polymerizes the material at high temperatures under vacuum to produce transparent PET chips.
