Hyperosmolar CPB Prime and Osmolality Changes by Eyüp Can Ozluk is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This study investigates the effects of a hyperosmolar cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) prime on plasma osmolality in patients undergoing elective coronary bypass surgery. Results showed a significant increase in plasma osmolality during CPB, peaking at 322±17 mOsm/kg, which remained elevated throughout the procedure but returned to normal by the first postoperative day. The findings highlight the potential risks associated with hyperosmolar primes, necessitating further research on their impact on organ functio
