The Effect of Boron Oxide On Concentration of Iron Ion Released From SiO2-B2O3-Na2CO3-Fe2O3 Glass System by editor.ijcrsetjournals is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This research investigates the effect of boron oxide on the release of iron ions from a SiO2-B2O3-Na2CO3-Fe2O3 glass system in synthetic seawater over 16 weeks. The study found that increasing boron oxide content enhances the concentration of released iron ions, with an optimal release rate observed at 55 wt.% boron oxide, yielding 1.11 ppm. Additionally, the chemical durability of the glass decreases with less silica content, impacting the overall stability of the glass system.
