This document provides an overview of Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation (DBA) in Passive Optical Networks (PONs). DBA dynamically adjusts the upstream bandwidth allocated to individual optical network units (ONUs) on a millisecond timescale to improve bandwidth utilization.
