Valves from the vendor Douglas Chero were found to be defective and not meeting specifications. Testing revealed that the internal trim of 5 out of 6 valves from Douglas Chero did not meet the maximum hardness requirement of 22 HRC for 410 stainless steel according to NACE standards. Using these substandard valves in sour service applications could lead to premature failure and corrosion.
