About this document

Microplastic Contamination in Crustaceans by M Gollo is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This study compares microplastic contamination in two crustaceans, European spiny lobster (Palinurus elephas) and langoustine (Nephrops norvegicus), collected from Sardinian waters. Both species exhibited 100% occurrence of microplastics, with P. elephas showing significantly higher levels of contamination. The findings suggest that these crustaceans are valuable bioindicators of marine plastic pollution and highlight the need for increased awareness of plastic
