What is Horticultural Oil and Insecticidal Soap about?

Horticultural oil and insecticidal soap are effective pest control options with minimal risk. Oils control overwintering pests and newer oils are safe for plants. Soaps are alternatives to chemicals that contaminate water. Both are most effective on sucking insects and larvae but not chewing adults. Timing application is important as their mode of action is mechanical, not chemical.
