What is Marshall Stability Test for Bituminous Mix about?

This document describes the Marshall stability and flow test procedure used to measure the resistance to plastic flow of cylindrical bituminous mix specimens. Specimens are loaded laterally in a Marshall apparatus at 60°C. Stability, flow, density, voids and binder content are measured to determine the optimum mix design. A minimum stability of 9kN and flow range of 8-16 units are required under Singapore standards to ensure durability, flexibility and fatigue resistance of the mix.
