What is Erratum about?

We understand that Dr Antosz has treated thousands of patients. We also understand that Dr Antosz is passionate about their functional occlusion and claims he is one of a handful of clinicians who actually "get it." However, although Dr Antosz was treating his patients in his own way over the past few decades, the specialty's understanding of TMD management has evolved and now incorporates genetics of pain vulnerability and hypersensitivity, pain pathophysiology, chronic pain, and behavioral, environmental, and psychosocial factors. One clinician treating his patients subjectively over decades cannot achieve this kind of understanding. It has painstakingly involved many small-and large-scale studies and trials and hundreds of researchers and clinicians worldwide from various disciplines and specialties. Were all these clinicians and researchers tirelessly working for decades to better understand TMD just to get their "new Lambo paid for," as Dr Antosz bitterly stated?If orthodontists fail to recognize and incorporate these significant changes into their clinical practice, and instead continue to concentrate on the minutia of occlusion, condylar position, and skeletal relationships
