A one week old female infant born via normal spontaneous vaginal delivery to a GBS negative mother was seen for a routine check-up on day of life 7. The infant was breastfeeding and having wet diapers every 3 hours. On examination, the infant was resting comfortably with normal vital signs, skin, heart, lungs, abdomen, genitals, and nerves. Blood cultures from 24 hours prior were negative. The plan was to continue feeds and monitor for anticipated discharge in 48 hours without current concerns.
