What is Funding Request for Sacramento Attendance Centers about?

Doris Matsui, a member of Congress from California, wrote a letter to the chairs of the House Appropriations Committee requesting funding for attendance centers in the City of Sacramento for fiscal year 2010. The funding would help redirect truant students toward consistent school attendance and successful education by preventing substance abuse, gang involvement, and criminal activity. Matsui certified that she has no financial interest in the project.
