What is New Geometric Writing in Elamite Tablets about?
Three tablets containing previously unknown "geometric" writing were discovered in Iran dating to the third millennium BCE. The tablets contain both the geometric writing and known Linear Elamite script. The geometric writing consists of 19 distinct signs made up of simple geometric shapes. This discovery represents a new writing system that was used contemporaneously with Linear Elamite in Iran during the Bronze Age.
