A b s t r a c t . For the first time BaCo,V,O, (A) and BaMg2V20, (B) were prepared and investigated by X-ray methods. Space group: D$-I4,/acd, Z = 8. ((A): a = 12.4441, c = 8.4153 A; (B): a = P2.4189, c = 8.4657 A). A and B crystallize with higher symmetry, but they are isotypic with SrNi,V20,.
