What is Protein Synthesis Termination Explained about?
Termination is the final stage of protein synthesis where the newly synthesized polypeptide chain is released from the ribosome. It occurs when a stop codon enters the A site of the ribosome, signaling the end of the coding sequence. There are three stop codons that do not have anticodons and are recognized by release factors. The release factors bind to the ribosome and trigger hydrolysis of the polypeptide chain from the tRNA in the P site, leading to disassembly of the ribosome into its subunits and rele
