This study compares the effectiveness of medical clowns (MCs) versus sedation in reducing anxiety and pain during pediatric urinary catheter insertion. Results showed no significant differences in pain or anxiety levels between the two groups, but the MC group experienced significantly shorter procedure durations and higher satisfaction from parents and medical staff. The findings suggest that MCs can serve as a viable alternative to sedation for this procedure.
