Can I read Univariate Dose-Response Models in Case-Control Studies on EtoBox?

Univariate Dose-Response Models in Case-Control Studies by Dr. P. I. M. Schmitz is a Mathematics article available to read on EtoBox.

What is Univariate Dose-Response Models in Case-Control Studies about?

For modelling dose-response relationships in case-6ontrol studies the multiplicative logistic regression model, assuming the relative risk to be an exponential function of the dose, is widely known. If the relative risk is assumed to be a linear function of the dose, several authors (see e.g. ## BERRY (1990)) have proposed an additive (linear) model. This model has a better f i t with the d a b if such a linear relation holds. Confidence limita for the relative risk derived from the information matrix, however, appew to be rather innccurate. Therefore, use of the 'standard' logistic model in two different ways was studied: extension with a quadratic term or a logarithmic transformotion of the dose. By npplying the meth3de both to an empirical data set and in a simulation experiment, i t is shown that appropriate transformation (often lognrithtnic) of the dosage and then applying the 'standard' logistic model is an useful approach if a lineor dose-response relationship holds.
