This study evaluates the genotoxicity of a hyperosmotic solution proposed as an endodontic disinfection alternative to sodium hypochlorite (NaClO), which has known adverse biological effects. Results indicate that the hyperosmotic solution does not exhibit genotoxic potential in human fibroblasts, unlike NaClO, which shows significant genotoxic effects. The findings suggest that the hyperosmotic solution could be a safer option for root canal disinfection.
