What is Philosophers about?

The document summarizes the theories of the state of nature and the social contract according to three philosophers: Thomas Hobbes described the natural state as a war of all against all and justified an absolute sovereign power. John Locke conceived a peaceful natural state and limited the power of the monarch in favor of natural rights. Jean-Jacques Rousseau explained that the social contract creates a general will that guarantees freedom within the law.
