This study aimed to develop an herbal hair tonic using extracts of aloe vera and licorice and test its effectiveness. Three hair tonic formulas were prepared with 7.5% aloe vera extract, 2.5% licorice extract, and varying amounts of 96% ethanol (5%, 10%, 15%). Testing on rabbits found the 15% ethanol formula had the best hair growth, increasing growth rate and hair weight the most over 28 days. This herbal hair tonic shows potential as a natural alternative to chemical hair products.
