Full Paper: The formation of interpolymer complexes (IPCs) between hydroxypropylcellulose (HPC) and copolymers of maleic acid with vinyl acetate (MAc-VA), acrylic acid (MAc-AA) and styrene (MAc-S) in aqueous solution has been investigated by turbidimetry, viscometry and fluorescence measurements. The viscosity data indicate a compact structure for the IPCs, attributed to hydrogen-bonding. The strongest IPC appeared between HPC and MAc-S.
