This systematic review and meta-analysis examines the prevalence of smell and taste dysfunction (OGDs) among COVID-19 patients. The analysis included 24 studies with data from 8438 COVID-19 patients across 13 countries. The review found that 41.0% of patients reported olfactory dysfunction and 38.2% reported gustatory dysfunction. Increasing age was correlated with lower prevalence of these dysfunctions, and objective measures found higher rates than self-reports. No significant differences were found based
