This study analyzed the amino acid composition of collagen from different sources - fish skin, bovine tendon, and bone - and the effects of gamma irradiation on bone collagen. The results showed that fish skin and bovine tendon collagen both lacked cysteine but hydroxyproline content was 30% higher in bovine tendon collagen. Bone collagen contained twice as much hydroxyproline as fish skin collagen. Exposure to gamma radiation significantly altered the amino acid composition of bone collagen at doses of 500
