The reactions of Mn,(CO)rc with CF,SX (X = SCF,, Cl, SCH,, SC,H,) always lead to the formation of the binuclear complex Mn,(CO),(SCF,), (I) with two SCF3 bridges\_ The compound Mn,(C0)sSCF3SCH3 with two different bridging hgands can be obtained as main product only with X=SCH3. With CF,SCl and CF,SSC,H, the formation of (I) is accompanied by redox processes which produce (CF,S), and MnCl, and (C,H,), and MnS respectively. No CF,S derivatives are obtained by the reaction of CF,SE(CH& compounds (E =N, As) with Mn,(CO),c. The reasons for the different behaviour of the CFsSX compounds are discussed. By the reaction of NaMn(CO), with CF3SCl the intermediate product Mn(CO)sSCF3 could not be isolated even at low temperature (20"); besides (I), (CF,S), and Mn,-(CO),, are formed as products of a redox-reaction. NMR and IR data for the new complex Mn,(CO)sSCF,SCHs are presented.
