What is Passive Smoking about?
This study evaluates the effects of passive maternal smoking on blood flow in the uterine, umbilical, and fetal middle cerebral arteries in a sample of 79 pregnant women. Results indicate that passive smoking has comparable impacts on fetal blood flow dynamics as active smoking, including increased resistance in the maternal vasculature. The findings suggest that maternal passive smoking may adversely affect fetal circulation, similar to the effects observed with active smoking.
