This paper investigates the effects of Post-Welding Heat Treatment (PWHT) on the mechanical properties and Hydrogen Induced Cracking (HIC) resistance of vessel steel plates. The study finds that while PWHT decreases tensile strength and hardness with increased holding time, it does not significantly deteriorate HIC resistance. The results indicate that PWHT can improve toughness without severely impacting HIC properties.
