In a multicentre case series of 66 patients who were solid organ transplant recipients (SOTR) and presented between 07 April 2021 and 21 June 2021, 2 adult patients [exact ages and sexes not stated] were described, who exhibited a lack of efficacy following immunisation with elasomeran or ad26.COV2-S against COVID-19 [doses and routes not stated; not all frequencies stated]. Case 1: The adult patient, who had undergone lung transplantation had been receiving unspecified immunosuppressive therapy. Later, the patient received immunisation with second dose of elasomeran [mRNA-1273; Moderna]. However, after 9 days, the patient was diagnosed with COVID-19 by PCR (lack of efficacy). Thus, the patient was admitted to ICU. Thereafter, acute rejection was suspected [aetiology not stated]. Case 2: The adult patient, who was SOTR, had been receiving unspecified immunosuppressive therapy. Later, the patient received immunisation with ad26.COV2-S [Johnson and Johnson]. However, the patient developed COVID-19 and was confirmed by PCR indicating lack of efficacy with ad26.COV2-S vaccination.
