1) The study aimed to analyze the relationship between sodium intake and the incidence of hypertension in elderly at UPT Pelayanan Sosial Lanjut Usia Binjai. 2) Excessive sodium intake can increase blood pressure by directly increasing sodium levels in the blood and blood volume. Consuming high sodium levels continuously can cause hypertension. 3) The results showed that 66.7% of elderly with sufficient sodium intake did not have hypertension, while 70% of elderly with over sodium intake had hypertension.
