About this document
Overview of Steady State Theory by Flaxkikare is a document available to read on EtoBox.
The steady-state theory proposed that the universe is expanding but maintaining a constant average density by continuously creating new stars and galaxies to replace those moving too far away to observe. It was first put forward in 1948 by British scientists Sir Hermann Bondi, Thomas Gold, and Sir Fred Hoyle as an alternative to the big bang theory but has since been replaced by the big bang model based on evidence such as the cosmic microwave background.
