What is Orange Peels as Biodegradable Plastic about?
This study aims to determine the acceptability of orange peels as a material for making biodegradable plastic. There will be four treatments tested - a commercial plastic bag, and three bags made from orange peels, sodium alginate, glycerin, and coconut oil at different concentration levels. The bags will be tested on density, durability, and water permeability. The treatment that is found to be the most acceptable could provide an alternative to traditional non-biodegradable plastics.
