About this document

BSSO vs. Distraction Osteogenesis Stability by Sukhvinder Singh Rana is a document available to read on EtoBox.

This study compared the stability of mandibular advancement using bilateral sagittal split osteotomy (BSSO) versus distraction osteogenesis (DOG) in 53 patients. Cephalometric radiographs were taken preoperatively, postoperatively, and 10-49 months after surgery to measure relapse. The results showed no significant difference in relapse between the BSSO and DOG groups, indicating that both procedures provide similar postoperative stability after 1 year when advancing the mandible.
