This case report describes an 11-year-old boy who presented with a generalized tonic-clonic seizure 7 days after developing a fever and rash. Examination found neck stiffness, signs of upper motor neuron lesion, and crusted rash. Cerebrospinal fluid analysis showed elevated white blood cells. Imaging found cerebral edema and cerebritis. The patient was treated with acyclovir, mannitol, and phenytoin and had no more seizures after 5 days of treatment, demonstrating that meningoencephalitis from varicella-zos
