About this document
Colloidal Sol-Gel for Fe3O4-SiO2 Nanocomposites by Alma Jael Gónzalez Rosas is a document available to read on EtoBox.
This document discusses a study that produced Fe3O4-SiO2 nanocomposites using an alternative colloidal sol-gel process route. The process involved mixing colloidal silica sol, iron oxide nanoparticles prepared via sonication and ammonium hydroxide, and nitric acid to induce gelation. Characterization of the materials found spherical iron oxide nanoparticles less than 20 nm dispersed in an amorphous silica matrix. Infrared spectroscopy showed characteristic silica and iron-oxygen vibration bands. Preliminary
