The concept of migration is not new to the society but in the present paper we tried to revisit the same with the changing scenario of socio economic development. We tried to focus on the selected rural and semi-urban areas of eastern part of India and also we tried to ensure that respondents are basically poorest of the poor in that area. It is found that most of the migrants are economically backward and the core interest of migration is to survive.
