What is Some Songs and Poems from Rabindranath Tagore about?

This volume is a most welcome addition to Tagore literature. Tagore's poetry has not aged and, in this refreshing new translation, the Nobel Prize-winning Indian poet touches us deeply with his reflections on love, friendship and nature. The translator, Dr. Pratima Bowes was a Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Sussex from 1968 till 1982, when she returned to India. She was formerly a post-doctoral Mellon Fellow in Philosophy at the University of Pittsburgh (USA) and Principal of Shikshayatan College, Calcutta.
