What is Autophagy Inducers for Lung Cancer Cells about?

A series of novel 1-(20-hydroxy-30-aroxypropyl)-3-aryl-1H-pyrazole-5-carbohydrazide derivatives were synthesized and shown to inhibit the growth of A549 lung cancer cells through autophagy induction without causing apoptosis or necrosis. Compounds 2a and 2d were particularly effective in promoting autophagy in A549 and H460 cells while not affecting normal HUVEC cells. The study highlights the potential of these derivatives as new anticancer agents targeting autophagy.
