About this document
Understanding Relative Clauses Types by Lucia Annunziata is a document available to read on EtoBox.
Relative clauses can be restrictive, non-restrictive, or free. Restrictive clauses identify a specific noun, while non-restrictive clauses add extra information. Free relative clauses have no head noun. Relative clauses can be introduced by wh-words like who and which, or by that. Non-restrictive clauses cannot use that or zero, and must use a wh-word. Relative clauses can also be in non-finite forms like gerunds or past participles.
