This study evaluated the accuracy of transcutaneous bilirubinometry (TcB) for estimating total serum bilirubin (TSB) levels in 150 infants with neonatal jaundice. TcB values above 5 mg/dL strongly correlated with TSB levels above 5 mg/dL, with 100% sensitivity and 83.3% specificity. There was a high correlation between TcB and TSB measurements (correlation coefficient of 0.897).
