What is Fine Screening in Wastewater Treatment about?

The fine screens remove fine debris remaining in the water following primary clarification. They have openings of only 2 millimeters in diameter, capturing anything larger than that while allowing flow to pass through. This protects the membranes used later in treatment from sharp material. The fine screens continuously rotate while screenings are automatically washed off and collected, then pumped to a washpactor for dewatering and disposal.
