The solar temple of Niuserre was located at Abusir and was originally constructed out of mud brick before being rebuilt in stone. The temple complex included a valley temple with a pillared entrance, a causeway leading to a terrace, and the upper solar temple set within a rectangular enclosure. Inside the solar temple was a central courtyard dominated by two 36m tall obelisks in front of five altars carved with the htp hieroglyph.
